Project Overview

This project explores the history and reception of two remarkable French television programmes, Cinéastes de notre temps (later Cinéma de notre temps), which ran from 1964 to 2020, and Un siècle d’écrivains, screened from 1995 to 2001. These series, which brought together filmmakers, authors, and creators from around the globe, provide snapshots of the conception of world literature and film in the eyes of French television producers in the latter half of the twentieth century.
